Dr. Gideon Anumba (MB;BS Ibadan, Postgraduate Cert. BA EBS HWU) is an accomplished medical and health insurance practitioner with over 16 years’ experience. He qualified as a medical doctor in 2004 from the prestigious College of Medicine of the University of Ibadan in Ibadan, Nigeria.
He had a successful 6 years career as a clinician before making a detour in health care finance when he joined Total Health Trust (HMO) Ltd, a foremost health insurance providers in Nigeria in January 2011. At Total Health Trust Ltd. (THT), he held several positions including Healthcare Providers Network Management, Clinical Case Management Manager, Key Account Management was in his last 3 years at THT appointed as Head-Provider Management Unit in July 2017.
At THT, he was also a member of the Operations Committee (OpCO). The OpCO is responsible for making strategic operational decisions and charting the course for the company. In addition to his primary medical qualification, Dr. Gideon Anumba holds a Postgraduate Certificate of Business Administration from the Edinburgh Business School of Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh, Scotland.
He has undertaken several continuous medical education and management courses and he is currently an MBA student of the Edinburgh Business School of Heriot Watt University Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom. He is also working towards the fellowships of the Academy of Health Care Management (FAHM) and Health Insurance Advanced Studies (FHIAS) both designations administered by the American Health Insurance Plans (AHIP). He joined Leadway Health as the Head of Operations in August 2020 and brings with him 6 years clinical experience and 10 years of health insurance experience.
